Patient Counselling

Patient Counselling can also be known as an individualized process involving guidance and collaborative problem solving to help the patients to better manage their health problems.
The patient counselling is a unique program, in which a network of patient counselors ensure that both educated and uneducated patients actually get proper healthcare tips to enjoy happy living.

The patients’ counselors are appointed in the hospitals that are trained and skilled to assist rural & poor in need of medical attention at every step of the way. Patient counselors provide the poor with the confidence to seek healthcare. They are stationed at all units of Soni Group of Hospitals.

Their roles include:

  • Guiding patients through admission and discharge.
  • Counselling people about the treatment they will receive and offering support throughout their visit to the hospital, either as inpatients or outpatients.
  • Provide counselling on referral services etc.

The patient counselors also circulate information, educational and communication (IEC) materials, spread awareness for tobacco free life, conduct health checkup camps and surveys at the hospital and around the town to participate and motivate people in pictorial warnings. The counselors are also trained on play back theatre (Projectors) which helps them in counselling.
