General Medicine

Department of Internal Medicine is the key department handling variety of routine outdoor patients. Outdoor consulting chambers of all the faculty members are located in the general outdoor wing of S K Soni Hospital on ground floor. All the chambers are well equipped with the modern clinical tools for clinical assessment of routine outdoor patients.

Facilities at a glance

·         Outdoor Services - regular outdoors on all working days from 9 am to 1 pm.

·         Indoor Services – admitted patients are seen by the consultant during morning and evening rounds

·         Emergency Services – consultants are available round the clock on rotational basis

·         Community camps – regular community camps

Academics

Department of Internal Medicine is actively involved in the regular academic activities of the hospital including monthly in-house CMEs. Under the guidance of the renowned academicians Dr S R Mehta & Dr Dinesh Mathur the department is pursuing to start DNB courses in the hospital.

Faculty

Dr. S.R. Mehta 

(Head of Department) - He has been the Principal, faculty senior professor and head of dept of Medicine of SMS Medical College and is presently heading the department of Internal Medicine at S K Soni Hospital. He is the recipient of prestigious Padam Shri Award. He has been post graduate teacher and examiner for MD (Med) and DNB (Med). He is the only physician in Rajasthan who has been awarded Fellowship of National Academy of Medicine. He has been awarded Dr B C Roy Oration Award in the category of outstanding teachers. He has also been awarded the title “MASTER-TEACHER 2009”. Under his kind guidance, the department of Medicine is working with the following faculty members.

Dr. (Ms) Dinesh Mathur

Dr Dinesh Mathur, ex head of Dept of Medicine, S M S Medical College, Jaipur is the recipient of prestigious Dr B C Roy Award for development of Nuclear Medicine in the state of Rajasthan. She has been the post graduate teacher and examiner for various exams like MD (Med), DNB (Med) and DNB (Nuclear Med). She has around 200 papers and presentations in various national and international conferences to her credit.  Dr Dinesh Mathur has special interest in Thyroid Disorders and Nuclear Medicine.

Dr. Anita Kanodia

Dr Kanodia completed her MD (Gen Med) from JLN Medical College, Ajmer in 1991. She has worked as the consultant physician & intensivist in Monilek Hospital, Jaipur for 8 yrs and was also selected as the Ass Professor of Medicine in MG Medical College, Jaipur. She has joined as the consultant physician in the department since Aug 2004.

Dr. Vipin Kumar Jain

He has done is MD (Med) in S P Medical College, Bikaner in 1991. Dr Vipin has completed his MRCP (I) Part 2 from Dublin, Ireland. He has served Govt of Saudi Arabia for 6 years and worked in various hospitals like SDMH, Jaipur and Imperial Hospital, Jaipur before joining S K Soni, Hospital.

Dr. Brijesh Bhardwaj

He completed his MD (Gen Med) from SMS Medical College, Jaipur in 1999. He has worked as a senior resident in various hospitals like SMS Hospital and Tongia Hospital before joining S K Soni Hospital as a consultant physician and intensivist in 2005.
