When I started Soni Hospital way back in 1984, I was apprehensive about making investments into a small plot of land. Jaipur had only two major hospitals €” SMS Hospital and SDM Hospital (SDMH) and was peppered with lots of small maternity homes. For a hospital situated in the middle of SMS and SDMH to succeed, especially which was different from traditional nursing homes, was difficult, but we are a success today.

Therefore in May 2003, when we began construction of SK Soni Hospital,I was once again apprehensive whether it would be a success. There were many factors against us- like location which was 12 km from SMS College, very few doctors wanted to work so far away. Our mission has been to provide the affordable and quality healthcare to the poor, the destitute and the sick. When we beg

an the hospital, we started Free Outdoors with subsidized diagnostics in the peaks hours of the morning. This was ridiculed by many others, but we stood firm to our commitment to provide free outdoors and subsidized diagnostics to the lower strata of the society.

Five years on, the same factors that were against us-like location, the Free outdoors, have become the very reason for our success in the eyes of the public. While I must extend my full credit to our hard-working & dedicated staff and to our excellent team of doctors, but the most important reason for our success is the patients who have put their trust and faith in us and given us an opportunity to prove our merit. It is through this trust that we have expanded out very fast.

Today, in a short span of 5 years, we are the only institute in the state with the heavy medical the heavy medical treatment equipment like €“ MRI, Linear Accelerator, CT Scan, HDR Brachytherapy, Cathlab, Holmium Laser, Lithotripsy along with an excellent faculty and team to backup this infrastructure. Again I must re-iterate that it is through the trust that our patients have shown in us that we have been able to offer super-specialized services and complex hi-tech services like cancer treatment at more affordable costs than other charitable institutions and other private institutions.

We are now working towards developing this trust further by improving ourselves and delivering better quality to our patients. In this regard we are now working on quality certification through NABH &NABL accreditation and strengthening the institute€™s academic flavor through Diploma of National Board, so that future doctors can be better trained to provide better services to patients all across Rajasthan.

Furthermore, we are also expanding our most popular super-specialty €“ the Critical Care units €“ bringing our total ICU beds to 82 and creating a state-of-the-art expanded 12 bedded Emergency Medical Services  with an attached 16 bed ICU, Operation Theater & Labor Room to create the state€™s finest Trauma and Accident Care unit by March 2010.

It is my aim that these state of the art and international treatment facilities be available to the poor and the neglected sections of the society. We have achieved some part of this through our Free OPD scheme, our tie-ups with groups such as Maheshwari Vikas Samiti, the Dairy Federation and others. But it is my hope that the poor be able to take the full benefit of these facilities through specialized insurance schemes.

SK Soni Hospital was founded on the dream and vision of my late father Shri Surendra Kumar Soni who always encouraged me to serve the people of  my state and my country. I hope that in the future we continue to provide and extend further the best international standard quality care universally to every man, woman and child in the state of Rajasthan be they rich or poor.
